It’s now possible to use the alpha Lens series designed for Sony Digital SLR still cameras with the HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270U HDV camcorders by using the LA-100W lens adapter. The difference in sensor size between the HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270U and D-SLR cameras means that the effective focal length of still camera lenses is multiplied by x7. This feature can be used for a wildlife video shoot. The shallow depth of field created by the still lens is ideal for filmmaking on a budget.
