What is Narrowcasting and Digital Signage?
- Narrowcasting, as opposed to broadcasting, reaches a very targeted audience; where they are; and (at best) when they are, ready to listen to a centrally controlled and distributed message.
- Digital Signage refers to all forms of video displays used where banners, billboards, posters, or other printed formats have typically been used.

- No operating system failures, no blue screen
- No per sign software purchase
- Lower power consumption
What advantages does a Sony networked digital sign have over a set-top box?
- Network traffic is greatly reduced and can be scheduled for off-peak time at lower cost Video quality is better (DVD vs. off-air TV)
- Playback continues even if the network fails
- Content can more easily be viewed when it's needed (e.g. time zone issues)
