Sony’s $1,399* HDBaseT projector

Sony’s portable, $1,399* VPL-EW348 is really connected. HDBaseT enables you to provide audio, video, IP and control over a single Cat5e/Cat6 networking cable. And with 4200 lumens, bright 3LCD color, plus WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, the picture is pure Sony.

HDBaseT: Simpler, cheaper,
more reliable

The typical installation requires separate cables for video, audio, IP and projector control. That can burden your installation with added cost, added weight, and added complexity. And it can add another wrinkle in your upgrade path from analog to digital. Not only is installation challenging, but it’s also hard to troubleshoot if anything goes wrong. HDBaseT replaces cable clutter with a single Cat5e/Cat6 networking cable. In the case of Sony projectors, this carries uncompressed digital video, uncompressed digital audio, IP and control. You can enjoy cable runs of up to 100 meters (300 feet) with superb digital quality and low latency.

Whiter whites: Improved dynamic mode

At default settings, many projectors will give your presentations a distinct color tinge. Spreadsheets, memos and other business documents look a little off. Sony’s VPL-EW348 stands apart. At default settings, Sony’s improved Dynamic Mode delivers a premium white with excellent brightness.

VPL-EW348: an all-around,
all-out performer
