See the release notes included with the firmware for the list of new standard features in the camcorder. This firmware also activates the following new optional features when the CBK-HD02 is installed in the PMW-500:

The digital extender feature will be activated
The HDCA-702 MPEG TS camera adaptor can be used with the PMW-500
The external video input recording capability of the PMW-500 will be activated. The SDI In connector can be configured to record an external SD or HD-SDI video input signal (with embedded audio) to the SxS card. The Genlock In connector can be configured to record composite video to the SxS card.

PMW-F3 Version 1.31 | Release Notes

Note:

You must use XDCAM Browser software version 2.0 or higher to work with cards/clips shot with a PMW-F3 running firmware version 1.2 or higher.

Firmware version 1.31 adds the following new features to the PMW-F3:

When the CBK-RGB01 option is installed in the PMW-F3:
- S-Log 4:2:2 10-bit 1080 23.98p/25p/29.97p output on HD-SDI (Link-A)
- S-Log 4:2:2 10-bit 1080 50p/59.94p output on HD-SDI dual link or 3G-SDI
Newly introduced Sony SCL-P11X15 Wide Angle Zoom lens is supported.
Synchronized record control (Synchro Rec) of SR-R1 via dual link, HD-SDI output.
When the CBK-3DL01 option is installed in the PMW-F3:
- Simultaneous control of two SCL-Z18X140 power zoom lenses via 3D-LINK cable

XDCAM HD 422 Memory Camcorders

For model: PMW-500

XDCAM HD 422 Disc Camcorders

For models: PDW-700 and PDW-F800

The following upgrades below should only be installed on a machine running package version 1.2 or higher firmware.

General Notice:
Discs formatted in XDCAM HD 4:2:2 machines running firmware version 1.2x and higher machines create a new folder called USERDATA. XDCAM HD 4:2:2 machines must be running version1.5x firmware in order to recognize "mixed format" recorded discs (i.e. disc which have material shot at different system frequencies). Your machine must also have the SD playback option installed if your mixed format disc includes SD material.

In order for older SD and XDCAM HD (420) machines to correctly manage USERDATA discs, please make sure your XDCAM machines are running the following minimum versions:

XDCAM SD machines - package version 1.60 or higher
XDCAM HD 4:2:0 machines - package version 1.98 or higher
PDW-U1 drives - XDCAM Drive Software version 2.21 or higher

PDW-700 Camcorder firmware version 1.71 | Release Notes

Includes a number of new features for the PDW-700 camcorder including support for the CBKZ-UPG01 and CBK-WA01 options (which add optional support for Live Logging and Wi-Fi Transmission, respectively) and a number of additional enhancements. See the supplied Release Notes for full list of updated features and improvements.

For FAM operations it is required that the Optical FAM driver be updated to version 2.30 (Windows and Mac OS) when updating the camcorder/deck firmware to 1.66 or higher.

PDW-F800 Camcorder firmware version 1.71 | Release Notes

Includes a number of new features for the PDW-700 camcorder including support for the CBKZ-UPG01 and CBK-WA01 options (which add optional support for Live Logging and Wi-Fi Transmission, respectively) and a number of additional enhancements. See the supplied Release Notes for full list of updated features and improvements.

For FAM operations it is required that the Optical FAM driver be updated to version 2.30 (Windows and Mac OS) when updating the camcorder/deck firmware to 1.66 or higher.

XDCAM HD 422 Disc Recorders

For models: PDW-HD1500, PDW-HR1 and PDW-F1600

PDW-HR1 and PDW-HR1/MK1 Clamshell Decks version 2.05 | Release Notes

Version 2.0 firmware enables you to install the PDBK-MK1 SxS option into the PDW-HR1 disc recorder and make it a hybrid deck (PDW-HR1/MK1) which can accept discs (playback and record) and SxS cards (playback only).

Download the operation manual for the PDBK-MK1 to see all of the new capabilities added by the SxS option.
This firmware adds the following new features when the PDBK-202 MPEG TS option is installed in the PDW-HR1 or PDW-HR1/MK1:

The SDI input can be configured to accept a DVB-ASI stream from another XDCAM machine using the PDBK-202 MPEG TS board.

PDW-HD1500 Optical Disc Recorder Version 1.71 | Release Notes

Includes a number of new features including updated Closed Caption Support (requires optional PDBZ-UPG02 CC converter/translator), updated Linear Edit support (requires Linear Edit Option PDBZ-E1500), Live Logging functionality and additional improvements. See the supplied Release Notes for full list of updated features and improvements.
