Sony General Manager Government Sales
The federal government is undergoing one of the most significant technology revolutions in its history - every agency and every department is evaluating its individual move to high-definition. In a country that has mandated a deadline of February 2009 for its consumer television HD transition, it is inevitable and appropriate for the government itself to take the lead in producing and distributing state-of-the-art visual imaging. Sony's new Government Sales Division is proud to be working with the federal government to make this transition from SD to HD as effective as possible. There are plenty of solutions and, as such, plenty of questions.
And our staff of HD experts has both the technical understanding and experience in government applications to assist our customers in selecting the products and systems that best serve their needs. Whether it's a cost-efficient solution for a school or an advanced HD capture system for numerous DoD and civilian agency applications, Sony is there. For those applications where SD is still the preferred technology, our experts can help devise a migration path for, if at any time, you decide to go HD.
Under the direction of Phil Whitebloom, National Sales Manager of Government Sales, Sony now has five dedicated government managers in southern California, Dallas and Washington D.C. in place to handle your calls and inquiries. You will be seeing and hearing from us more than ever.
As Sony rolled this new, government support commitment out to our strategic resellers at NAB, they were energized by the opportunity to visit their customers with the assistance of a factory, technical representative from Sony.
On a personal note, this year I am celebrating 25 years at Sony. Having held strategic positions throughout the company in broadcast and national accounts over this time, I am extremely proud of the commitment that our company has now made to our nation's government and I am honored to be leading the Sony team dedicated to serving our government's video needs.
