Remote Control Your HD Shoots with the HDC-X310
There are numerous times you need to document an event from a distance in high-definition video. Surveillance is an obvious application. Traffic and weather camera applications need to be observed and controlled from a central command and control location. Then there are distance learning, training, and even hazardous events -- all of which would be better served with a versatile, rugged HD camera in a fixed location, and with the operator in full control but not in the middle of the action.
The HDC-X310 delivers remote-control video acquisition where the finest imaging detail is required. High definition (HD) provides 4.5 times more information than standard definition (SD), which could enable you, for example, to identify a license plate number a mile away -- with the optional 19x, high-resolution lens; besides, SD images become increasingly grainy as they are enlarged during playback. The compact unit is remote controllable and extremely powerful even under extreme low-light situations.
The HDC-X310 incorporates three, 1/2-inch-type 1.5-mega pixel HD CCDs, which offer high resolution, high sensitivity, and high signal-to-noise characteristics. Packing this performance into an extremely compact chassis, the HDC-X310 offers advanced features such as progressive scan modes, and slow shutter.
The unit's remote control capabilities are vast, flexible and exceptional through the use of the associated HFU-X310 interface unit, which connects to the camera via a fiber optical cable. It is a full-functioning, robotic system, offering discrete RS-232C pan & tilt control and bi-directional digital data , including video, camera control signals, external sync, and optical filter servo control -- all transmittable up to 3280 feet (1000 meters) away.
The HFU-X310 interface unit hosts up to two optional interface boards to cover a range of output signals, including HD-SDI, SD-SDI, and - soon-to-be-introduced HDV through the i.LINK® interface , as well as computer XGA output.
