Letter to Sony

Last winter, as part of an initiative to connect Marines overseas with their loved ones during the holiday season, Sony collaborated with students and staff from a nearby San Diego high school to produce family messages to military personnel at Marine Corp Air Station Miramar.

Mike Williams, Sony Electronics executive vice president and general counsel, and Ed Wallace, director of Community Affairs for SEL, conceived the idea when sharing thoughts on how Sony can help U.S. military families.

United States Marine Corps Colonel P. C. Christian recently sent the following letter of gratitude to SEL: "On behalf of the active duty marines, sailors and their family members on board Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, I would like to thank you for sponsoring the "Family Holiday Video Taping." Through your generous donation of video tape equipment and DVDs, 70 families were able to video tape their holiday messages for their loved ones who are deployed. Your participation in this thoughtful event was greatly appreciated and a real morale booster during the holiday season.
