Sight and Sound Productions, an audio/video production company that specializes in the houses of worship market, is turning to Sony high-definition solutions to meet the challenge of expanding its services in this rapidly growing sector.
"While we work with some of the largest organizations in the business, we also cater to smaller houses of worship that have very limited budgets," said Emily Ellis, Co-Owner and Director of Operations at Sight and Sound. "With Sony we are able to create different levels of services that can meet any churches needs, requirements and, of course, budget. This flexibility allows us to achieve high quality productions for our clients, big or small, while keeping prices affordable."
For example, among its many clients, Sight and Sound Productions is the official video production company for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, which is one of the largest religious organizations for gospel preachers, ministers of music, church musicians, leading gospel artists and gospel radio station owners in the country.
"Using Sony's HD cameras and easy-to-use live production equipment," she said, "we have helped this group extend its reach to a wider audience by producing high-quality productions that are broadcast via cable and the internet to a congregation that now stretches to all corners of the U.S."
Today, the production company, which was founded in 1992, provides a wide list of services to a national clientele of houses of worship, including live recording, audio and display purposes, video duplication, as well as recording DVDs to sell on site.
Sight and Sound relies on some of Sony's latest A/V production equipment, including the all-in-one
Anycast Station™ live content production system, as well as a number of BRC series high-definition robotic cameras and LCD monitors. When used with the robotic cameras, Sony's Anycast Station system enables a single operator to control multiple cameras from one location, making it a cost-effective solution for live-production.
According to Ellis, the rapid growth of religious television network programming is a major factor driving the adoption of high-definition video production by a steadily increasing number of houses of worship.

"We turned to Sony after realizing we needed to increase our ability to offer our customers expertise on how to develop a customized solution that met their individual needs for live production," said Ellis.
