Sony Features New High-Definition Technologies and HD Installations at
NAB 2008

Sony's 2008 exhibit at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention was a one-stop shopping source for houses of worship looking to enhance the technological capabilities of their ministries.

The technologies on display had potential for ministries in a range of applications: broadcasting services, enhancing video production capabilities, converting from standard- to high-definition production or streaming services over the web, and more.

"HD technology is continuing to take hold in every aspect of video production, and houses of worship are a perfect example of this trend," said Robin Richards, marketing manager for houses of worship at Sony Electronics. "Sony HD cameras, switchers, large venue projectors, displays and decks are leading the way, helping media ministers and their staffs bring new and exciting HD content to their congregations."

The Sony exhibit was again all HD, and focused on customers' diverse production requirements and their need for a range of production choices that fit their workflow.

Sony highlighted its complete HD line-up of products at NAB 2008. From the HDV™ line - which now boasts six camcorders and hybrid media flexibility - to the growing XDCAM® HD family and XDCAM EX™ solid-state system and up to the F23 and newly announced F35 camera systems, the Sony exhibit showed there's something for everyone in the Sony HD toolkit.

New Sony introductions such as the PMW-EX1 and PMW-EX3 camcorders, as well as the new hybrid media HDV camcorders illustrated how the increasing affordability of A/V systems is bringing high-quality technology to a wider range of video professionals.

As a result, more houses of worship are able to: expand their ministry, embrace local and even global members through broadcasts, stream on the web and distribute DVDs; and illustrate a message through a more dynamic and engaging visual presentation Houses of worship are truly in an era of change, and Sony is truly excited to be playing a part in this transition.
