North Shore-LIJ Health System's Bioskills Education Center.

At North Shore-LIJ Bioskills Education Center, Sony's LMD-2450MD Medical Grade HD monitors are displaying the images of the future with exceptional detail and color accuracy. In October of 2008, The Bioskills Education Center opened the facility which is located in Lake Success, NY.

The 6,200 square-foot facility features an advanced hands-on learning laboratory that mirrors a functioning O.R. As both students and practicing physicians explore the intricacies of new procedures on cadavers, Sony's LMD-2450MD HD widescreen monitors display detailed endoscopic images and video of the entire mock surgical team at work.

At the Center, the Sony equipment is functioning in collaboration with endoscopic and general surgical equipment that together comprise a model for a truly end-to-end state-of-the-art O.R. Shortly this will include an advanced Sony IPELA® HD video conferencing system, bringing the immediacy of live procedures being performed in both the OR and learning lab into the Center's lecture hall.
