Renowned Cinematographer Sam Nicholson, ASC, demonstrates the creative benefits of the new Sony PMWF3 XDCAM EX camcorder. Shallow depth of field due to the super 35mm image sensor; high sensitivity; slow and quick motion; and extremely small footprint that allows users to shoot in space-constrained areas are highlighted in this creative demo.

The Red Balloon was shot and posted entirely with the 35Mbps on board codec, including Chroma Keying the red balloon and with other scenes. 18db of gain was deliberately used in select shots to demonstrate the low noise performance of the EXMOR CMOS imager.

"Anarchy" is a music video featuring the New York based band "The Stumblebums" produced by a team of NYU MFA students at the Tisch School of the Arts. We follow Ana, as she wanders the streets of New York, heartbroken and dwelling on her recent twist of fate. With Ann Malinowsky, Miguel Govea and Victoria Mack. The video attempts to push the limit of the camera, sampling day and night, indoors and out, lit and unlit. The indoor footage was recorded at 400 bps using the Sony PMWF3.
