4K Resolution
A whole new way in projection, Sony's SRX Series are the first projectors you can buy to achieve 4K resolution: 4096 pixels horizontal x 2160 pixels vertical. This is slightly more than four times the number of pixels of high definition video (1920 x 1080). For example, if you held a credit card up to a screen 27 feet wide, the card would be covered by over 1,000 pixels! The logical question is "why?" Why not be satisfied with conventional resolution? Why did Sony invest a considerable R & D effort establishing a higher resolution? And why should digital projection professionals care? There are several powerful answers.

Greater Immersion
High definition creates a more emotionally compelling viewing experience than standard definition. In the same way, 4K is far more immersive than HD. 4K projection enables viewers to sit closer to the screen and still retain the illusion of a seamless, continuous picture. As viewers sit closer, they become more involved in the power of story, more immersed in the visual experience. Just as IMAX® projection creates a more memorable visual experience than 35mm film exhibition, 4K SXRD projection is your ticket to the next level of digital entertainment viewing.
In addition, if your business depends on rapid decision-making based on visual information, it pays to make that information as clear and accessible as technology will allow. That's why Command & Control and Simulation customers currently "edge blend" multiple projectors into a single image. 4K SXRD projection represents a major advance. Compared to edge blending, the SRX-R110 and SRX-R105 present a giant canvas of 4096 x 2160 with no loss of real estate at the edges and no distracting shifts in brightness or colorimetry.

Four HD Images
Sony's SRX-R110 and SRX-R105 can be configured with four HD-SDI inputs supporting four simultaneous high definition
images. Each image appears complete in its own quadrant of the common screen. And each retains the full glory of
1920 x 1080 resolution. This configuration is ideal for Command & Control applications that depend on multiple video
feeds, for Museum Exhibits, Casino Sports Book and for any application that needs to track more than one video feed
at a time. The projectors also support side-by-side display of two simultaneous, full-resolution HD video feeds.

Differentiation
Home televisions with native 1920 x 1080 high definition are populating the market. Computer displays are migrating to ever higher resolutions. Any event promoter, trade show exhibitor or movie theater owner who aspires to deliver a better-than-home-theater experience today and in the future must ultimately provide higher-than-HD resolution. That's exactly what Sony SXRD projection delivers.
